Foliage will remain lush for a slightly longer time after blooming if kept moist but it will die back by midsummer Deadhead for smaller second bloom. With deep tap-roots Lupines are at best difficult to transplant

    

 
Requirements:

Soil Type - Sandy loam, moist, well drained
Soil ph - neutral - slightly acid
Water - Moist, tolerates some dryness
Light - Full sun to partial shade

Characteristics:

Height - up to 4 ft
Time of bloom - Late spring - early summer
Flower colors - Full range of colors
Propagation - seed
Transplants - Difficult, long taproots


Excellent self-seeding perennial, Lupines will spread over open ground quickly.
