Vinca

Requirements: Soil Type - All
Characteristics: Height - Low, dense mat forming
Vinca is an early blooming evergreen ground cover best suited for moist partial shade areas. It can be aggressive in favorable conditions with reaching stems rooting as they grow outward. Vinca will thrive almost anywhere soil retains some moisture. In full sun with dry soil Vinca will not be as agggressive and may have a hard time establishing itself as a ground cover. While Vinca will grow in full shade it will not grow as dense or flowers as well. Vinca is NOT deer resistant. Deer will eat an area of Vinca clear to the ground but it will grow back. |
