Here’s a hard working bee doing what comes naturally.

Now here’s one that looks like it went on a binge.

Whatever it was I want some honey made from it. I might end up disheveled and holding onto something to keep from falling over but I’ll feel like a …
… Eastern Tiger Swallowtail
Papilio glaucus

Until I wake up and realize I’m still a drone.

Beautiful pics. Someone should tell that Bee, it is a sin to work on Sunday. LOL
II wish I could get pics of the bees and butterflies but my camera is not that good. I have in a request for one or Christmas though.

You captured wonderful detail with these pics. The busy bee reminds me that I need to get busy too, so see ya later.

Great photos! You are right about the second photo. That bee looks like he’s seen forty miles of bad road!

Nice close-up, and if that bee were in Texas I’d say she looks like she’s been “rode hard and put away wet”. I sure hope your readers know that’s a ranch horse reference, because I wouldn’t want you to get weird hits from search engines, WiseAcre!

Great shots! I can’t get a good photo of the Swallowtail. It spooks every time I come near. Yesterday morning I saw a bee that looked a lot like the 2d one. It had spent the night in the thunderstorms clinging to a Liatris.

I’ve been bouncing around your blog & I have to tell your how much I like your photography. Pleas tell me what lens your are using to when you are photographing close-ups thanks

Happy you like the photos. Magic Wings is a great place. I try to get there once a year. I’m always interested in the different lenses that people use. I’ve seen great shot from Point & Shots & crappy shots from high end SLRS. My photography teacher used to say ” It’s not the camera that makes a great shot, it’s the photographer.”

It would be nice to be able to identify the different butterflies. I hope I get good shots this year when I go.
SilenasImages,
I just tried to ID some mushroom and failed miserably. I better try ‘labeled’ butterflies if I’m going to start a new collection. I only post known subjects on my web site although I could use the mushrooms in my desktop wallpaper / background section.
