Alien Escapees Shot in New York

Two groups of alien escapees were spotted along the Buck Road in the Town of Madrid, NY and shot today.

A local gardener pulled over and shot a number of individual members of a group of prickly looking immigrants late this afternoon.  The gardener was quoted ‘What set me off was seeing them bearing pretty purple flowers. I wasn’t sure I’d get another chance to get a shot at them before the season was over since I don’t get over that way often‘. The group had already caught the attention of others in the area and were being crawled over in what could only be called a feeding frenzy.

Incited by the incident the gardener proceeded to look for other subjects on which to focus his attention. Discovering another group of refugees that looked like Sweet Pea he shot them too at point blank range. Continuing in a fit of excitement the gardener then crossed the road without looking and started to shoot the local inhabitants as passer-bys waved encouragement to the lone shooter.

The identity of the second group has not yet been confirmed.  At this time only amateurs have examined the photographs taken at the scene.

Sweet Pea

Investigators are guessing the pod bearing group are members of the Sweet Pea Family which is known to be aggressive. The garden variety members have been expanding it’s territory into untended areas for years.  It’s been postulated the group discovered today is a hybrid offshoot of the family.

Authorities have not yet commented on the incident and the names of the local residents are still being withheld. The gardener was last seen leaving the scene in a red pick-up truck and remains at large.  There will be no charges made against the man even though he is known to be a looneytic and would probably pay for the opportunity.

Beautiful purple flowers (bee balm? we don’t grow it down here) and great shot of the bees, Mr. Looneytic. Very fun read… best watch for traffic next time or there might not be one. :-)

    Meems,
The purple flowers are Canada Thistle. They’re not really Canadian but European. Canada is getting a bad rap over these.

I did listen both ways before crossing the road :)

OK .. what kind of a camera do you have because these are amazing pictures WA …. I am very jealous of what great shots and what great plants you seem to be stumbling upon .. let alone the alien invasion excitement ! LOL
Joy of the ‘pesky critters invasion”

    Joy,
The camera is a Sony Cybershot DSC-S85 - 4.1 mega pixel. It was a pretty good camera for it’s time and still does the ‘job’. Best xmas present I ever got :)

    Shoot first - Identify later.

LOL. I’m with Joy, my camera couldn’t do that even if in the hands of someone who knew what they were doing.

    Apple.
I hope you’re not implying I know what I’m doing. A monkey could do as well with my camera. Thank goodness I’m not buying film anymore or I would need one. It would be cheaper buying bananas.

Now is a good time to start dropping hints. There’s only 5 months left before Xmas.

Looneytic. Huh. Who could it be… believe it or not, it’s just….

    Benjamin,
OK, now I’m going to be up all night wondering just what?

wonderful pictures- what kind of camera do you use?
I’ve captured a few bee-hinds lately on my blog, but none as great as yours!
I am really enjoying your blog and plan to stop back frequently!

    Dee,
I’m looking forward to your return and checking out your buggy photos too.

i see your camera model now- sorry I didn’t read the comments before posting my own!

    Dee,
    That’s OK
I’ve had the feeling no one has listened to me in years. Being married and having 3 daughters has given me the chance to get used to it.
