Dianthus – Neon Star
This bright flowered perennial caught my attention at the local garden center the other day. The tag clearly stated it was a zone 5 – 9 plant but I bought 3 of them anyway. Seeing minus 30 F. is no surprise around here in the winter so I am certainly taking my chances even though I’m hedging my bet by using them in the village where the ‘climate’ is a little better.

I haven’t finished the stonework yet but here I am planting. I’ll probably end up moving these later but for now they have a home.

I kind of like the ragged look of these. I’ve been caught up in looking at the little details of flowers lately. I don’t think I’ve ever liked them so much before.

You have not moved me away from your stonework. The flowers are beautiful but your work is simply great.

Hey- We are zone 4 and I managed to keep one alive for about 3 years, but it got smaller every year and is now gone. I liked the foliage color and texture and the blooms were a plus

Very pretty! I love these for their all season blooms in my neck of the woods! Love the rock arrangements in the background too~
