Furry Family

2009
Apr 20

You’ve seen glimpses of some of my furry family. I forgot my manners and should have introduced you long ago. So here’s the line up in no particular order. I don’t have a favorite. Like all family members, love knows no bounds.

Itty Bitty Kitty – my little pest
and dog groomer

the only one that will pose for the camera
Black Jax – my shoulder kitty who’s so camera shy I can’t get a good face pic.

Black Jax
Mavie – Resident Evil and dog hater

Mavie is a particular terror to all visiting dogs. He’ll hide behind a door waiting in ambush. Pity the poor doggy nose that happens by.

Pretty Stinky – my big buddy

and love biter
Pretty (fat)(dumb) Parker
Pretty Parker
mellow and mannered
Pookey Pookey – the canine feline

I can’t forget my really really big kitty. Pookey forgets she’s a dog. Ya can’t blame her since she was raised by 9 cats.

Pookey and Itty Bitty

We’re down to 5 cats since Pookey became a family member. Old age, run in with cars and sudden vanishings have reduced our feline family by almost half over the last couple of years. We miss Pretty Girl, Pretty Boy, Pity Patty and Kitty Kay. Looking out - Pookey and Jax

All the dogs and cats are the same everywhere as long as we just focus at their eyes. Maybe they are seeing the same thing no matter where they are.
They are seeing the ugliest and funniest people of the world.

    rainfield,
I don’t think they see ugliness, I’m sure they just see the food server, rub giver and a funny looking member of the family.

Rainfield is right…. and they dont make big fuss out of it.. but pets are always adorable! ~ bangchik

    bangchik,
They’re worst than the kids since they can’t open doors. … and no matter how much my stomach feels like bread dough – it doesn’t require kneading.

NIce to meet your family! Most of the kitties look related, are they from the same litter? Mine all look so different and have all been rescued at one time or another from the vet, the neighbors (one-eyed morons) or been dumped on our road. My dogs mouse way better than the cats but we like to have them around anyway. Good looking animal family!

    Heather,
All but Resident Evil are related. Jax was adopted from a feral group and is the mother of the others. (my girls know how to get the most out of their picks)

Nice meeting your family. Didn’t realize that Pookey looked so much like Maggie, without the long ears. (www.seasonalwisdom.com) Is she a mixed breed too?

    Teresa,
Pook is a rottweiler – pit bull mix. She’s a big (94 lb) sweetheart that I’m sorry to say is a lap dog. I won’t tell Pookey but Maggie looks like the good looking sister.

  5. Grammy Says:

I love those green eyes. You have quit a wonderful looking family. Itty Bitty Kitty reminds me of my kitty Crash. A fun spoiled kitty.

    Grammy,
Mine are spoiled too. Crash would have been a good name for Itty Bitty in her younger years. She had to get up on everything and using a squirt gun to teach her NO would always lead to something getting knocked over.

It was so nice to meet your fur babies(-: They all look very happy(-:

    cindee,
They should be happy, meals, daily rubs and a warm bed all for just being cute and cuddly :)

You have a beautiful feline family .. and I do mean all feline .. being with cats so long changes the canine DNA even though the outside still looks doggy .. the inside has been taken over by “the cat masters” !!
I had no idea how many little furry hearts you had living with you : )
They know they have it good .. and try to make you think you are in control .. but we know who is driving the family car ……….. your wife !! hehehehehe

  8. Monica Says:

I’m assuming Mavie gets along with Pookey and just terrorizes other dogs??? Pookey looks very mellow and like she feels comfortable with all those cats!

    Monica,
Those two have an uneasy truce. Both are wary of the other and keep their distance. Mavie doesn’t really like anything with fur, including the other cats and stuffed animals. Pook is very considerate of the cats except at treat time. Otherwise she’s just one of the bunch.

  9. Teresa Says:

Pookey hides her weight amazingly well. You know the camera adds 10 pounds. She’s a cutie, that’s for sure.

    Teresa,
She is one solid dog for sure. She may hide the weight well but she’s still a load on my lap.

Nice group! Funny coincidence-I had a dog named Pookey when I was a kid. She was a terrier/poodle mix, very sweet, energetic, and non-shedding. I wish they made non-shedding cats, but then my clothing/furniture/entire house wouldn’t look quite right without tons of cat hair I suppose. :)
