Fuzzy questions and answers
I haven’t been able to identify this fuzzy yellow caterpillar.
I’m hoping someone can give me a clue. Bonus point to anyone who can identify this caterpillar

But back to the quiz.
Question 1:
How many legs does a caterpillar have.

hint- the other side has the same number
Question 2:
What plant does this fuzzy seed head belong to?

Question 3:
What are those globes over this fuzzy red moss?

——————————–
Answers:
1. Being an insect a caterpillar only has 6 true legs. The others in the rear are prolegs on their abdomen. The prolegs are not real legs although they are used as such. Maybe I should have asked how many pairs of shoes does a caterpillar need?
2. Coltsfoot – Tussilago farfara (and you wanted to say dandelion, didn’t you)
3. Instant Martians

Have a look at this link:

And click on:
Ctenucha virginica larva
I’ve never heard of it, but it looks like it might be your guy. Here’s another link to more info:

Question # 2: What plant does this fuzzy seed head belong to?
That would be the GE Plant. It’s my grandmother’s head from directly above. She was a light bulb tester, and one day she missed the socket with the bulb and stuck her finger in.

I do not have an answer to that. But I have a similar odd looking caterpillar over :

You get a fantastic side view showing us the red shoes it is wearing.

Actually, for #2 I would have said yellow goatsbeard (Tragopogon dubius). But what I really wanted to say was that I found another morel in my garden–by falling on it and detaching it from its stem. I was digging out some tansy, you see, and jumped on the shovel with both feet only to hit a big, big tree root which sent me flying. None of the plants or I sustained serious damage, except said morel. (No, I am not making this up for comic effect.)

I know I wanted to say dandelions, but I knew that would be too easy. I knew that last one was instant Martians. Yup, I knew it all along.

When I was a kid my dad use to bring home anything strange he found for me while he was working. He was a clearing contractor so he found lots of weird things. One time he brought home a fuzzy caterpillar that was a lot like that only a different color.

I don’t know any of the answers. Bugguide.net is another good site for bug ID’s. You post a photo and someone usually ID’s pretty quick. Although, that seems to have happened here on your website, too.
