That may be the coolest picture of a frog I have ever seen.

    Ratty,
Yea. but can he sing and dance like Michigan J. Frog?

Great shots of the wild critters! I love Great Blue Herons, they are such cool birds.

    Mr. McGregor’s Daughter,
Herons are tough to get a good photo of since they are so shy. Lucky I was able to use the truck as a ‘blind’. Just pulling over to the side of the road had this one ready to fly but it settled down when I made no move to get out of the truck. I have to say I’m tickled pink with my new camera and the 18x zoom. I’m getting photos that were impossible with my old camera.

My Olympus has an 18X zoom, but the photos all seem to come out grainy at that zoom. Did you manually set the aperture for that great frog shot?

    Giddy,
I had the camera set on it’s macro mode and used the flash. I was zoomed in about half the range possible. The photos are cropped - re sized - sharpened (sometimes gamma adjusted)

I went back and did the same but this time I used a firm base and the shots are clearer. I’ll be posting those photos next. (I want to get a smiling face set as my background)
