The face gets half its color from the mother, the white (hereford) and the other half, the black from the father. (angus) The pattern changes every time, its called a brockel faced calf. I bet that mallard has quite a reputation after breaking the "goose barrier" (or maybe they're ostracized for being a bi-species couple?) Or is that bi-order? Bi-phylum? I slept through zoology! :) I miss working with cows too, especially the hard work! I had way more energy then, guess the more you use, the more you have.
