My Ligulaira also wilts quickly and needs a nice shady spot to keep it looking full.

I'm been missing your posts. Hope all is well and that you are just busy gardening.

Hope to see a new post soon.

Debbie,
I feel bad losing touch with my blog. I now have a month long gap in my wildflower postings. But some things can't be avoided. Oh Well, Work has to come first. I only wish I had been gardening but last week was spent pounding pavers.

You aren't kidding. When the sun shines on my ligularia, it wilts worse than your pouting-cause-we're-being-moved bunch! Doesn't help that I have dry soil. I know. I honestly have no business growing ligularia at all, but seriously, what else can I grow that will give me that big, huge, purple-green leaf in the shade?

Goatsbeard... now that I can grow, and well. I think I'm missing something in this little contest between you and Joy, though, so I'll keep myself out of it. ;)

Kim,
Those big, huge, purple leaves are too nice not to try growing even if you have no business doing so. The big orange daisy like flowers are just icing on the cake :)

I'm not even sure what the contest was about. Who has the most? - I win. Who has more varieties? - I win. Who cheats - I win. Trouble is all the Astilbies I had are now farmed out at different jobs. I think I'm down to a handful of 'Finale' and a couple dozen 'Visions' (purple)

I won't start about how you need to shave off that Goatsbeard.

Have you really not posted in this long? What are you a a gardener (in June) or something?
I know my postings have been pretty sparse too but remember that post a few moths back when I asked for advice on a fence... maybe you saw that post?? Well we have been building a custom fence for our front garden, Stop by and see. It should all come together in the next 2 weeks as the Amherst Garden Tour is coming through then!

Carol,
I can't believe June is almost over. I got sidetracked on Long Island with some work that had to be done and just returned home. I forgot my camera so no pics :( - I need a notebook computer. I've been out of touch too long and now find getting back to the internet a bit hard after such a long time.
I'm going to stop by your blog once I catch up with my comments. I'm afraid I missed the garden tour.
