Now they would have caught my attention too ! .. driving behind you must be an experience, with you straining to see plants on the side of the road, and pulling over so much ? LOL
They almost remind me of small cone flowers .. they are very pretty and a nice change from the purple : )

Nice photos of this Aster. It can be kind of a pain in the garden as it is heavy seeder. It is nice for the back edge.

I had a feeling it was a prolific seeder. They’ve spread way beyond their preferred growing conditions. I’d rather they were my weeds than some of the other stuff that invades my gardens. Just I need to go back and collect some seed later. They would make a nice backdrop in a garden or better yet another addition to my ‘wild’ area beyond the mad mower’s reach.
