Sea Gull Smorgasbord

2009
Dec 17

Dumpster diving Sea Gulls enjoy an …All you can eat buffet.

I’m pretty sure this is NOT the image the restaurant wants associated with it’s name.

Sea Gull

I think I swallowed a bone.

Sea Gull beak

I brought those images home from Long Island. After 11 days of take out food I was glad to get home. I’m looking forward to finally being able to get back to the woods and forget that asphalt jungle.

Seems like winter beat me back. The yard looks good with snow hiding all the leaves I haven’t managed to rake up yet. …but the 12 cords of wood I stacked in the basement before I left even looks better right now.

Yay for dumpster diving, seagull and otherwise!

I like the “We Deliver” sign on the left. I hope that bone goes out of that bird as easily as it went in. I’m glad to see a new post. I’ve been missing them.

I hope that bird is OK! Welcome back, I missed your posts!

Ha! Great stuff. The wildlife watching fare for the urban. Yes, I’ve missed you too!

12 cords in the basement?!! Is that a joke?
Love the seagull photos! I saw one upend a baby goose once and swallow it whole. Quite a gruesome sight – especially for the poor baby.

Wiseacre? Yes I think I remember him. Glad you are back!

I love seagulls. Mind you, I live BY the sea, so the gulls over here mostly hang out over the water. The land gulls are ‘over the mountain’, down in the valley, and hang out around the farm fields, etc. They still amuse me, though. Guess its my days of having loved Jonathon Livingston Seagull. Yes, I admit it.

Yummy for your tummy. What did you find in those bins? Christmas presents?

Great pictures! Hope they didn’t choke on a bone.
I enjoy the seagulls when we go to the lake. Sometimes they fly in there and hang out for a while(-: We are about 3 hours from the ocean though!
    It is Christmas vacation time here(-: I am going to enjoy my two weeks off!!! Yay!!! Happy Hollydays to you!!(-;

Wiseacre, your pictures are fantastic as always. I must admit that I searched your blog to see if you had mentioned the camera you use -Thanks, I found it.

I think you play down your own skills a bit though. The camera doesn’t find the scenes and take the pictures on it’s own after all. Your blog is a great source of info AND entertainment.

Happy New Year!!!! I hope you are having a great evening!!!(-:

    Happy New Yeah, Deah!

It’s been a while since I’ve visited. Been a wee bit busy, ya know.

Glad to see you are still doing beautiful photos!
