Join Green Thumb SundaysOld Man Winter has me under house arrest.

Bugs Bunny

The doors are blocked with snow, the driveway has been erased from view and hope for an early parole buried under wind blown snow drifts. County officials have co-operated by sealing off the foot of the driveway and ‘removing’ the mailbox. My only hope is to tunnel out. When I hit Albuquerque I’m taking a right.

I’m packing some photos to remind me of warmer days.

Good luck with your tunneling,I thought it was left at Albuquerque and take the route 40 to Flagstaff.

    Cheers Mark

    Mark,
Bugs starts out from a different direction. I’m headed south so I need to hang a left when I get there.

  2. CJ Says:

Tunnel past my place so I can go with you! There is a brand new desperation in our quest for escape…isn’t there?

    CJ,
…and it’s not quiet desperation. AARGH!

  3. ByrningBunny Says:

How fun! And what beautiful pictures. Is that your garden? We’ve still got four feet of snow easily and no mailbox to worry about the plows hitting!

    ByrningBunny
All the photos are ‘my’ gardens. True they’re in other people’s yards but I put them there and have permission to come and go as I please. LOL I don’t have a mailbox to worry about anymore. The plow didn’t make a direct hit - it was a massive wave of snow that took out the box.

  4. Bamapat Says:

My map is slightly different, head toward PA and keep going south, none of this west-direction…

Love the photos — makes more sense that my winter ones but then, folks in the south like to see the south — imagine? Idiots!!

    Bamapat,
You go to Florida and have fun. I’ll head to the southwest and get in trouble. Southerners aren’t idiots - they might lke to see snow but they know enough to live where it doesn’t pile up to the roof. :)

  5. Bamapat Says:

whoops, folks in the south like to see the snow, not the south, sure can tell I’ve been stuck inside, eh?

  6. Garden Wise Guy Says:

Your post is a kick. Love the Photoshop Looney Toons folk. Keep the faith. Spring will spring. And thanks for posting your comments at my Garden Wise Guy blog. Appreciated!

    Garden Wise Guy,
Glad you like the ‘Paintshop Pro” photo edits. :)
I enjoy heading your way every Sunday. Even a wiseacre can learn something new

  7. Apple Says:

After the last week I’ll be surprised if I am snow free by June 1st. Why does winter seem longer this year?

    Apple,
We’re getting shorter? Maybe it’s something to do with visiting all those southern blogs and their pics of things alrady in bloom. I think the winter is just trying to average out from all those mild winters of the past few years.

  8. Aiyana Says:

The gardens are lovely! I would trade my desert garden for something lush like in the first photo. I guess you pay for that great look by having bad winters! I assume the gardens are ones you deal with. Do you help design them?
    Aiyana

    Aiyana,
I ‘design’ and install all the gardens. I won’t work for anyone who ‘knows’ what they want. They only need a landscaper. I prefer those that call and ask me to do “my thing” even if I don’t know what I’m doing until I finish.

  9. Annie in Austin Says:

Too late - not only you, WiseAcre, but all your photos have already gone completely Looney! If you pass Austin on your way West, be sure to stop and say Howdy!

    Annie at the Transplantable Rose

    Annie,
What can I say - Bugs Bunny has been my role model since I was a kid.
Spring Fling is more tempting each day but I have other plans. When I head south next week it will be to work/play on Long Island.

  10. Pam/Digging Says:

Ehhhh, time to head south, Wiseacre. Did anyone say Spring Fling?

    Pam,
Spring Fling sounds like a hoot. I’m sorry I can’t make it. Meeting gardeners, talking ‘garden’ and visiting gardens is one of my great passions. I’m headed south to work/play next week and once I start I won’t stop till the ground freezes again.
